Pemerintah Indonesia dan Malaysia kembali membahas masalah perbatasan kedua negara. Salah satu agenda yang akan dibicarakan adalah wilayah perbatasan di perairan Kalimantan Barat.

"Batas wilayah akan kembali dibahas pada 16 Oktober mendatang," kata Juru Bicara Kementerian Luar Negeri, Michele Tene kepadaa di Jakarta, Minggu 9 Oktober 2011.

Menurut Tene, dalam pertemuan itu juga akan dibahas batas di wilayah Tanjung Datu yang dikabarkan dicaplok oleh Malaysia. Menurut dia, ada tiga komponen batas wilayah yang dibahas, yaitu batas landas kontinen, batas laut wilayah, dan batas Zona Ekonomi Eksklusif (ZEE).

Tene mengatakan, untuk batas laut wilayah dan ZEE masih dirundingkan dengan Malaysia. "Untuk batas landas kontinen telah selesai dibahas pada 1969," kata dia.

Dia menambahkan, terkait batas wilayah perairan di Kalimantan Barat itu, Indonesia telah memiliki klaim tersendiri. Namun, klaim Indonesia itu belum diakui oleh Malaysia.

Sementara itu, terkait perbatasan darat di Camar Bulan, Tene mengatakan telah ada kesepakatan antara Indonesia dan Malaysia. Jika ada informasi pelanggaran batas wilayah oleh Malaysia, Kemenlu akan menindaklanjutinya.

"Kami menunggu hasil verifikasi dari instansi terkait. Jika ada bukti nyata, kami akan ajukan protes ke Malaysia," kata dia. "Namun, jika hasil verifikasi itu tidak menemukan pelanggaran, protes itu tidak akan dilakukan."

Sebelumnya, Wakil Ketua Komisi I DPR, TB Hasanuddin, menemukan fakta patok batas antara Indonesia dan Malaysia tidak sesuai dengan Traktat London tahun 1824. Dia mengaku mendapatkan data garis batas wilayah Indonesia dengan Malaysia berubah.

Pantauan Hasanuddin di lapangan, patok batas kedua negara melengkung ke arah wilayah Indonesia. Akibatnya, kata dia, Indonesia berpotensi kehilangan wilayah seluas 1.400 hektare tanah di Camar Bulan dan 80 ribu meter persegi di Pantai Tanjung Datu. "Patok yang ada saat ini tidak sesuai dengan perjanjian London itu. Jelas, ini menambah luas wilayah Malaysia," kata dia.

Hasanuddin berjanji akan memaparkan hasil penelusurannya ini di hadapan Komisi I DPR. "Saya pegang semua data dan peta," tuturnya.
